
Tuolumne Public Health reports four new deaths from COVID-19, a 90-year-old vaccinated and three unvaccinated women, an 80-year-old woman, a 60-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man. Two of the deaths were from a local care center. Public health epidemiology and infection prevention staff coordinate with facilities and organizations to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in high-risk environments.
Tuolumne Salut Pública reports 63 new cases identified since yesterday, including an internal case. There are 274 active community cases, including 20 hospitalized. The total rate of current cases, a continuous average of 14 days for Tuolumne County, is up to 64.5 per 100,000 inhabitants from a previous high of 62.8 yesterday. Of the 62 new community cases, 2 were vaccinated with Moderna.
New cases include 16 cases aged 11 or under and 12 aged 60 and over. The breakdown of gender and age is; 8 girls and 4 boys from 0-11 years, 2 girls and 2 boys from 12 to 17 years, 8 women and 5 men from 18 to 29 years, 5 women and 6 men from 30 to 39 years, 2 women and 4 men from 40 to 49 years, 4 women from 50 to 59 years, 5 women and 1 man from 60 to 69 years, 3 women from 70 to 79 years, 1 woman and 1 man from 80 to 89 years and 1 woman from 90 or more years .
A total of 22,564 Tuolumne residents are fully vaccinated and 4,046 are partially vaccinated. The vaccination rate is 53% of eligible people in Tuolumne, 12 years of age or older. The California Department of Corrections reports 12 active cases at the Sierra Conservation Center (SCC). A total of 1,554 prisoner cases have been resolved, including all southern fire camps.
Tuolumne Public Health and Adventist Health Sonora issued a joint statement detailing the increase in patients due to Covid: “Exhaustion is a euphemism right now,” Dr. Philip Clarkson said. Both entities are strongly encouraging vaccination as detailed here. Tuolumne Public Health says the vaccine is the most important step in reducing the spread of the disease, preventing serious illness and death, and reducing the impact on the health care system. In addition, they recommend the continued practice of other preventative actions such as wearing a mask in public, keeping your distance, avoiding crowds, washing your hands and staying home when you are sick, will help slow the spread of the virus.
Public health of the county of Calaveras Calaveras reported 28 new cases of Covid since yesterday. Active cases fell to 56, from 97 active cases yesterday. There are four active hospitalizations in Covid. There are 10 new cases from 0 to 17 years and two new cases in people aged 65 or over. Since the pandemic began, Calaveras has had 325 Covid-19-positive people under the age of 17 and 511 Covid-19-positive people 65 and older.
Butterfly County Public Health reports 9 new cases since yesterday, including 2 cases under 11, 2 from 12 to 19 and 2 cases from 60 and over. There are 104 active cases and 11 hospitalized people. Six of the nine new cases were not vaccinated, the vaccination status of one case is currently under investigation.

COVID-19 tests The state test site is located at the Mother Lode fairgrounds in Sonora and is scheduled to open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Due to the increased demand, appointments should be arranged instead of entered.
