He currently stars in Hulu’s intriguing new limited series, Nine Perfect Strangers.
But Melissa McCarthy is already gearing up for a new project, whose trailer dropped on Tuesday.
In her new Netflix film, The Starling, the 50-year-old Oscar nominee plays a mother mourning the loss of her son, while her husband, played by Chris O’Dowd, is sent to a mental health center.

The clip sees her visiting her husband at the idyllic retreat, before Melissa is advised to shrink after looking distracted at work.
The professional to whom he is sent, however, is a veterinarian (played by Kevin Kline) who used to be a therapist.
When she first appears in her office, she asks Melissa about her pet, to which she replies that she has none.

McCarthy and O’Dowd were previously co-stars at the 2011 Bridesmaids, for which Melissa received her first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Since then, the star has continued to present comedy hits, such as Spy in 2015 and The Heat in 2013, while showing a more dramatic range in films such as Can You Ever Forgive Me?
