The Department of Health has revealed today, Wednesday, in its daily monitoring report on COVID-19, the deaths of 20 people due to viruses, bringing the total death toll to 2,778.
These are 13 women and seven men. The region with the most deaths is the metropolitan area with nine deaths corresponding to six women between the ages of 31 and 98 and three men aged 26, 59 and 80. He is followed by Mayagüez with five dead; three men aged 66, 79 and 93 years and two women aged 73 and 87 years. Bayamón, Caguas and Fajardo report 6 deaths in total, at a rate of two per municipality, including five women and a man between the ages of 56 and 93 years.
There are currently 531 people hospitalized, of which 499 are adults and 32 minors.
Positive cases recorded by molecular testing reach 376, while probable cases after an antigen test remain at 301.
At the time two million, 288 Thousand, 776 people have a dose of the vaccine and one million, 977,000, 499 people have the completed dose series.
The data in the report covers the period from 9 to 23 August.
