Giants ‘Adoree’ Jackson left the field after practice

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – After the final whistle ended Wednesday’s session, Giants head coach Joe Judge led his entire team to jog the field, through a gate and into a lower field. There is the “hill”. The judge made his team go through conditioning sprints up and down the hill, which is a New England football tradition with Bill Belichick directing the show.

“That was different,” Evan Engram said. “I had a hill in Pee Wee days we used to run after practice. That was a bit of a memory path. But it was a good job. “

It was hard work, with heat of 91 degrees.

“It’s a different way of conditioning,” Daniel Jones said. “It was good. Yes, a lot of fun.”

This last part was said with a smile, tinged with sarcasm.

The judge wants to put a hill on the Giants ’training facility and already has the property’s approval to do so.

Corner Adoree ‘Jackson was removed from the field at the end of the joint practice. Jackson was hit in a few drills, once he left the field for a period for teams for a few plays after falling on coverage before returning. When he left he was replaced by rookie Rodarius Williams.

Jackson is dealing with some sort of ankle problem, with 18 days to go before the opening of the regular season against the Broncos. However, the ankle problem is not considered serious.

TE Kyle Rudolph underwent foot surgery after signing with the Giants in mid-March and on Wednesday withdrew from the list unable to perform. He participated in some individual exercises. It will be difficult for him to be prepared in time for the opening of the September 12 regular season.

“My goal is to get better every day and make sure I’m fit to go when this team needs me,” Rudolph said.

The judge opened his statements by expressing his sympathy for former Giants coach Tom Coughlin, who revealed on Tuesday that his wife, Judy, is in deteriorating health.

“Look, what Coach Coughlin has done for the organization, for his players, obviously speaks volumes,” the judge said. “He has even taken it further with the loved ones for him and his wife, so anything we can do to support the family, as he has supported the organization, we will always do it. “Coach Coughlin has been great for me, so whatever he needs from me, I’ll be here for him.”

There was a small skirmish and it happened soon, as the Patriots ’offensive line and the Giants’ defensive line got into a pile on the grass during the 1-on-1 exercises.

“I think we were just talking,” Patriots center David Andrews said with a dead screen. Both parties were sent off in a penalty shootout.

OT Nate Solder returned after wasting time with a shoulder problem. … Shane Lemieux (knee) extended and Kenny Wiggins settled in with the first unit on the left guard. …. QB Clayton Thorson was dismissed with an injury agreement.

Ryan Santoso scored two field goals, including a 50-yard one, near the end of practice. The Giants are trying to change Santoso as they are locked in with veteran Graham Gano as the pointer. The Patriots, who could be in the market for a new kicker, saw Santoso first hand. … Jon Bon Jovi, a notable Patriots fan, was a visitor in practice.
