After a decade of acting in his hit food series The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond is ready for his foreground, making his acting debut.

The Discovery Plus broadcast service announced Wednesday that Drummond, 52, will debut as an actor on the Food Network and Discovery Plus’ first original film, Candy Coated Christmas.

The film has just finished production and is slated to be released during the holiday season on the Discovery Plus streaming service.

The story is set in the picturesque town of Peppermint Hollow, which is described as “the Capitol of the Mint World.”

According to the official description, the film “will deliver food-focused content that Food Network fans adore and bring audiences to enjoy the wellness stories associated with the holiday season.”

Drummond joins a cast that also includes Molly McCook (Last Man Standing), Aaron O’Connell (The Haves and The Have Nots), Jae Suh Park (The Big Short) and John McCook (The Bold and the Beautiful).

Drummond will be, “bringing her appeal and real-life experiences as a landlady to her role as the owner of a bakery that befriends a newcomer to the city.”

“Candy-covered Christmas was a lot of fun to be a part of; it had all the magical elements that make holiday movies so special,” Drummond said in a statement.

The story centers on Molly Gallant (Molly McCook), a Los Angeles-based marketing executive who is “at the top of the world” as she makes her way from her annual father-daughter trip to Hawaii.
