MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The surveillance video shows a thief quickly stealing a Louis Vuitton bag from an outdoor dining area. He didn’t know he belonged to a 22-year-old U.S. military woman who quickly ran after him.
Tuesday was about two in the afternoon. The thief had a getaway car. The surveillance video shows the woman was able to hang herself next to the car. He could not catch the pirate. He fell and suffered a rash on the road, police said. The thief took the debit card and AirPods.
Hours later, about 15 blocks from the bag, a video of a witness shows that Tamarius Davis, 22, of Norcross, Georgia, fired a random gun at a pedestrian on 14th Street.
Davis turned north on Ocean Drive before fatally shooting Dustin Wakefield, a 21-year-old man who died while protecting his son from Davis.
Davis is being held without bail at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. According to the Miami Beach Police Department, he alleged he had an apparent mushroom-induced psychosis when he shot in Wakefield, Colorado, Colorado.
