Franklin County schools are announcing the move to NTI days

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18): In a Facebook video, Franklin County Schools Superintendent Kopp and Deputy Superintendent Six announce the change to non-traditional instructional days to help curb the spread of COVID.

Kopp announces that there are 89 positive cases of COVID in the district while quarantining 656 students.

Schools will use five days of NTI starting next week, Monday, Aug. 30 through Friday, Sept. 3.

“We are using NTI next week in hopes of reducing our COVID-19 positive cases and the number of staff and students in quarantine.”

There will be extracurricular programs available for child care and sports will continue as long as appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented and followed.

Students should plan to return in person on Tuesday, September 7th.
