Two Honduran migrants were released in Mexico after being abducted by the dangerous Zetas Cartel.
Relatives of the migrants had to pay $ 7,000 (about 170,000 lempiras) to this Mexican criminal organization in exchange for their release. Thus, they were released by the Zetas and the Hondurans returned to Honduran territory.
Images of migrants tasting food confirmed that they had regained their freedom, after photographs circulated in recent days while Hondurans were threatened with weapons by criminals.

They were detained at some point in Mexican geography for several weeks. Subsequently, the kidnappers communicated with the relatives of the migrants in Honduras, demanding this sum of money.
They sent videos frightening migrants; they beat them and proclaimed that if the payment was not made, they would be violently taken away from their lives.
Hondurans are originally from the community of El Jobo, Nacaome, Vall, in southern Honduras. They migrated to the United States through El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico, but were detained by members of this criminal organization in the latter country.
