NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Coach Mike Vrabel will miss the Tennessee Titans preseason finale a week after testing positive for COVID-19, and a pair of coaches and another player have joined the protocols as he grows the outbreak of the equipment.
On Saturday, the Titans announced that special teams coach Craig Aukerman, who missed a couple of workouts under NFL’s COVID-19 protocols, will return to Saturday night’s game with Chicago. Wide receiver coach Rob Moore and offensive line assistant Jason Houghtaling will miss the game due to virus protocols.
Rookie receiver Racey McMath was also placed on the reserve list / COVID-19 on Saturday. This makes him the current seventh player on the roster and the 12th player or coach on the reserve roster or following COVID-19 protocols since Vrabel announced last weekend that he had tested positive.
Defensive Friday Anthony Rush was activated on Friday on the reserve list, which is for players who test positive for COVID-19 or who are in quarantine after being in close contact with an infected person.
The Titans said Aukerman will manage the team’s communication with the players. John Streicher, the football development coordinator, will be in charge of the game decisions, managing the playing time and communicating with the coaches.
