Vanguard Alpha confirms that the fan-favorite feature has been removed

He Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha has confirmed that a feature preferred by fans has been removed, at least for some players. COD fans around the world finally got the latest installment this week, courtesy of a new Alpha. It will be a few weeks until there are even more players holding hands in the Open Beta. That said, meanwhile, we’re learning a ton of metrics about the game, or at least its multiplayer.

For example, we now know Call of Duty: Vanguard it does not have a FOV (field of view) slider on the console, that is, the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X versions do not have a FOV slider. As you know, while FOV slider is a standard issue on the PC, it’s a feature that many console gamers don’t get, but that changed, at least for Call of Duty, with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

When Black Ops Cold War introduced a FOV slider, received much praise. And so many suspected there was Activision and colleagues. would advance the function. This is a reasonable assumption, but unfortunately it is incorrect.

Of course, a FOV slider may be introduced in the console by now in the full version of the game. That said, if this is the plan, no one at Sledgehammer Games or Activision has conveyed so much.

One of the big talking points around a FOV slider on the console is that without a PC players have an advantage, leaving console players with one of two options: suck it in or turn off multiplatform gaming.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released worldwide on November 5, 2021 via Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, PS4 and PS5. For more coverage of all things Call of Duty – including news about Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War, War zone, Modern Warfare, i COD Mobile – click here.
