Imane “Pokimane” Years could be one of the biggest streamers in the world, but she still has the same struggles as a number of other female gamers. In a recent thread on Twitter, Pokimane revealed that one of the reasons he hasn’t played anymore Valuing is that he doesn’t like to talk too much in the game. Part of that is her celebrity status, but the other part is just about some of the condescending, trolling comments that so many other women deal with while playing online. Still, it looks like Pokimane is determined to achieve the Immortal rank Valuing, since her brother has achieved this rank before her!
Pokimane’s tweets on the subject can be found embedded below.
I find that my biggest problem is that I don’t like talking too much in the game (ppl makes you weird that I’m a girl / that I’m a poki), and that doesn’t work with being a sova main 🥲 and I don’t have a reliable duo to communicate- me in my name ~
so I’ll look for a + learn q agents alone 😌

In May, a study by Lenovo and Reach3 Insights found that 59% of women surveyed hid their gender while playing online video games. 77% of the 900 respondents also stated that they had to deal with harassment related to their gender. Given the importance that this type of treatment can have in online games, it is not uncommon for Pokimane to try to avoid talking in online games.
Fortunately, it looks like this won’t stop the streamer from playing anymore Valuing to attain the rank of Immortal! The transmitter says it is looking for “a reliable duo to communicate on my behalf.” Apparently, the streamer has tried using a voice changer in the past, but stopped because it made her sound like a robot. It’s unfortunate that the station feels it has to follow this route, but it’s also encouraging that it doesn’t let the problem stop it from playing more.
Valuing is now available for PC. You can check out all of our previous game coverage right here.
