Not even 24 hours after beating UFC champion Tyron Woodley in the ring, the boxing sensation turned YouTuber Jake Paul, the self-proclaimed “new face of the fighting game,” is already …… retired?
May be. Possibly. Probably not?
Unless you believe this cryptic tweet sent Monday evening early:
Updated status:
Boxer retired

Boxer retired
That’s all. Has the match ended like this after four fights against non-boxers? If so, Paul made so many of his haters beg him to leave very happy. But the thing is, this seems too familiar to us.
In April 2016, Conor McGregor made that same move. Remember? “I decided to retire when I was young. Thanks for the cheese, Catch is later “, he tweeted without explanation. That, of course, turned out not to be true, and he had an epic rematch with Nate Diaz four months later, which McGregor won.
McGregor “also decided to withdraw from the fight” in June 2020, or so he tweeted. But again, that’s not true, and he returned to the cage seven months later being eliminated by Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.
The purpose of these tweets about McGregor’s retirement was to provoke a twist and create even more intrigue around his name. We’re willing to bet this is also doing Jake Paul here.
But hey, if we’re wrong, it was fun while it lasted. Rejoice, haters!
