
Adventist Health Sonora has provided hospitalizations from 8/30/21 to August for vaccination status
Tuolumne Public Health reports 57 new cases and a COVID-19 death of a 40-year-old man who had not been vaccinated since the report on Friday afternoon. A total of 18 community cases on Saturday, 32 community cases today plus 7 new cases of inmates from the Sierra Conservation Center. There are 333 active community cases, including 20 hospitalized, 2 of the county’s 6 ICU beds were available yesterday (the latest information available). The total rate of current cases, a continuous average of 14 days for Tuolumne County, is 56.8 per 100,000 inhabitants below a maximum of 67. Of the 50 new community cases, 6 were vaccinated. New cases include 6 cases aged 17 or under and 13 cases aged 60 or older. The breakdown of gender and age is; 3 girls and 1 boy from 0-11 years, 1 girl and 1 boy from 12 to 17 years, 9 women and 7 men from 18 to 29 years, 5 women and 3 men from 30 to 39 years, 1 woman and 3 men from 40 to 49 years, 1 woman and 2 men from 50 to 59 years, 4 women and 5 men from 60 to 69 years, 1 woman and 2 men from 70 to 79 years and 1 man from 80 to 89 years.
Public Health continues to strongly encourage anyone who meets the requirements to be vaccinated, as it is the most important step in reducing the spread of disease and preventing serious illness and death, as well as reducing the impact on the health care system. In addition, continued practice of other preventative actions such as wearing a mask in public, keeping your distance, avoiding crowds, washing your hands, and staying home sick will help curb the spread of the virus.
A total of 22,844 Tuolumne residents have been vaccinated and 4,352 are partially vaccinated. The vaccination rate is 54% of eligible people in Tuolumne, 12 years of age or older. The California Department of Corrections reports 32 active cases, most in a state correctional center, at the Sierra Conservation Center (SCC). A total of 1,564 prisoner cases have been resolved, there are 3,341 inmates, which includes all southern fire camps. A total of 69% of inmates are vaccinated and 41% of staff, the sixth lowest staff vaccination rate in the state. Amador State Mule Creek Prison (MCSP) has 3,867 inmates with 89% fully vaccinated, the second highest vaccination rate in the CA prison system, and 48% of its staff are vaccinated. MCSP had 1,863 covid infections, most in January. They have tested 900 inmates in the last 14 days and continue to report zero new cases of Covid since July 9th.
Public health of the county of Calaveras reported 71 new Covid cases since Friday. There are 79 active cases and 5 Covid hospitalizations. Their few hospital beds were noted in a joint notice from Public Health and Mark Twain Medical Center here. There are 19 new cases from 0 to 17 years and 9 new cases in people aged 65 or over. Since the pandemic began, Calaveras has had 373 Covid-19-positive people under the age of 17 and 529 Covid-19-positive people aged 65 and over.

Vaccines are highly effective, but we must also focus on other preventative measures, as well as give immunity to more of the world’s population to reduce the rate of spread. Hospital status Stanislaus reported 13 beds available for 100 ICUs yesterday, San Joaquin County reported 5 ICU beds, and Sacramento had 76 beds available. People in Tuolumne are taken to the surrounding counties for care as needed, and children in Tuolumne County can be cared for in hospitals in the Bay Area. San Francisco reported that 90 beds of 150 ICUs were available.
