WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – In terms of COVID-19 transmission rate, Jefferson County has moved into the “high” category.
This is according to the monitoring of COVID data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Locate the county in the “red” zone as shown on the CDC’s county-by-county map.
According to the website, the county’s positivity rate is 4.89 percent. It also shows that almost 69% of those eligible are fully vaccinated.
The transmission rate in Sant Llorenç County is also at a higher level. Positivity is around 4 percent and nearly 59 percent of the eligible population is fully vaccinated.
These two counties are not alone in this range. Nearly 94% of U.S. counties belong to the “high” category.
Lewis County’s transmission rate appears to be “substantial,” the next low level. The positivity is 3.77 percent and 51 percent of the eligible population is fully vaccinated.
Only about 3 percent of counties across the country show up with substantial transmission rates.
