Former President Leonel Fernández yesterday favored the inclusion in public schools of the study of the Bible, the most widely read book in the history of mankind and with all the lessons of the contemporary world.
He stated that when asked if the Bible should be in school, he replied, “Of course it should be in school.”
Answering questions from members of the “La Tertúlia” Philosophical and Cultural Group, led by neurologist Bruno Rosari Méndez, the president of the Força de el Poble party added that the sacred book should be taught in such a way that the student can interpret and assume it.

He defined Jesus Christ as the greatest historical leader mankind has ever had.
“If anyone wants to be a political leader who studies Jesus Christ. Let him study the New Testament because here he will find all the lessons of the contemporary world,” he said in front of a large group of social gatherings and special guests. the event held at the residence of Pedro Domínguez Brito. Fernandez revealed that his two favorite characters are Moses and Jesus, from whom he has learned a lot about contemporary politics and what is lived in political parties.
He explained that as human nature is the same as it was centuries ago, it was possible to see in the Bible how Jesus Christ is not only put on a cross, but discredited and put next to him by two thieves.
