Britney Spears and her new lawyer say her father is trying to get about $ 2 million in payments before leaving the guardianship that controls his life and money, a measure they compare to extortion into a case judicial Tuesday.
The paper filed by attorney Mathew Rosengart says the next scheduled guardianship accounting, which James Spears says he wants completed before he resigns, would mean significant payments for him.

A James Spears representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The filing is a supplement to Rosengart’s July petition on behalf of Britney Spears for the removal and suspension of James Spears, which will be addressed at a hearing on Sept. 29.
In his response, James Spears revealed that he had already been planning to relinquish custody of his daughter, which he has controlled at least in part since it was established in 2008.
But James Spears did not offer a timetable for his departure, saying he would arrive only after several persistent issues were resolved, including the next accounting.
James Spears said he would fight any attempt to evict her, that there was no reason to do so, and that he has always acted in the best interests of his daughter.
Rosengart’s latest presentation argues that while there are many misconduct to address, that is not yet the problem.
“The only question before the Court, which has unfortunately been lost for years, is whether Mr Spears’ speedy suspension and removal is in the best interests of Britney Spears, ”the presentation says, and then adds that “The unequivocal answer is yes.”
Since 2019, James Spears has controlled only his daughter’s finances, after leaving the post of supervisor of her personal life.
However, she was the target of much of her daughter’s anger in a couple of court speeches in June and July, in which she called guardianship “abusive”. Spears said he had been required to use an intrauterine device for birth control, to take medication against his will and was prevented from marrying, having another child or even traveling in the your boyfriend’s car unsupervised.
“This guardianship is doing me a lot more harm than good,” Spears, 39, said at the time. “I deserve to have a life.”
In an unrelated case, Ventura County authorities are investigating a minor assault charge of a staff member at her home that said Britney Spears hit her.
Rosengart described the incident as “a fabricated incident,” she said, saying “regarding a cell phone, no bumps and obviously no injuries of any kind.”
