XCOM developer Firaxis Games today shared the first public view of Marvel’s Midnight Suns game before its release in March 2022, detailing what it will be like to fight alongside the superheroes in the comic book universe. In short, it doesn’t really play as the tactical titles for which the study is known. Instead, you select random cards from a deck, and then activate your skills, as explained in the six-minute game video embedded above.
The battles are fought with teams of three people and the new superhero known as the Hunter will always be by your side. It can be completely customized (aesthetically and with new skills and abilities), but it also provides perspective outside of confrontations with those who want to end the superhero workgroup. When not fighting, you can explore a concentration area called Abbey. Here you can interact with other characters, select dialogue options, and strengthen your bonds with them in order to unlock new powers to use in battle. You can also acquire new skills in the aforementioned base.
