The video captured several destroyed homes in the Mullica Hill section of the county.
Troy Bonnenberg and his children were in the basement. Minutes later, the family escaped unharmed, with their belongings scattered throughout the South Jersey neighborhood.
Bonnenberg lost half of the back of the house due to a tornado.
In front of the street, Bonnenberg’s neighbor suffered the weight of this storm. Aluminum siding, ceilings, furniture and children’s toys piled up in a family car. The house is now uninhabitable.
“It’s horrible. You never expect anything like this to happen in this area because you’re not in the Midwest,” said Robin Wilson Smith of Mullica Hill.
It is still unclear how many homes were damaged by the storm.
“I just spoke to Harrison Township Mayor Lou Manzo about the devastating tornado that erupted in and around the Mullica Hill community tonight. We are closely monitoring the situation and will do whatever it takes to support it. to the response and recovery in the coming days “. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy in a tweet.

Several other tornado videos were seen in the area. In Sewell, Logan Wilson could be heard telling his family to “go to the basement” as the funnel cloud passed in front of his house.
According to Gloucester County officials, two people sustained minor injuries due to the storm.
County residents are asked to stay home unless an emergency evacuation is necessary. There are several power lines down and they can cause injury.

Route 322 from Rt 45 to Cedar to Clearview High School
High Hill Road from Route 130 to Pedricktown Road
