The government is working on the transfer of data from people who were inoculated against covid-19 in medical institutions or in pharmacy chains, the information does not appear in the official register of the vaccinated population and they have had difficulty requesting vaccination ID.
The information was released yesterday on the spokesman the chief executive of the Puerto Rico Innovation and Technology Service (Prits), Enrique Völckers Nin, who provided details on the technological process. As of yesterday, 640,282 people had the Vacu-ID, according to Völckers Nin.
“We have already made an identification of the problem that existed directly with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) through the company that uses the platform and now at the end of the month a full transfer is being made again by then add those that were left pending, ”he explained.
Asked if the problem should be resolved before the end of this month, the official replied: “It should be resolved these days, at the latest and next week. Many people have to be already with this problem solved and instead of waiting at the end of the month -as is usually done- this data validation will be done now every week “.
It recently transpired that some 100,000 people had not been able to apply for the Vacu-ID. As reported, they had been inoculated at Walgreens, Costco, CVS, Walmart and Kmart pharmacies, in addition to Veterans Hospital. Yesterday, Völckers Nin assured that the number reported is lower.
“I don’t have the number on the day. Yes, the day after the information came out in the newspaper – out of 100,000 – we did an internal validation and the number ended up being 49,000, not 100,000,” he stressed.
He noted that the Prits is working in conjunction with the Department of Health, as this agency is responsible for safeguarding the data and keeping it up to date.
“A call center was activated to receive calls. In the beginning, there were a lot of phone numbers, because now a call center with a unique number was activated for people to call. they are adding more people to this call center to have more call capacity and a joint effort was made to validate this information, ”he detailed.
“When the citizen calls, interviews him, his identity is validated and the necessary arrangements are made in the system to ensure that this Vacu-ID stops the data with the Department of Transportation and Public Works,” he added.
The official took part in an activity at the Capitol yesterday and was happy because at the entrance to the House of Laws visitors and employees are being required to show their Vacu-ID – which is scanned – or their ID card. vaccination.
“I am very happy. I am very grateful to the House of Representatives, which is not only asking for the Vacu-ID, but for them to do the whole process of scanning the Vacu-ID with Cesco digital and validating that this Vacu-ID is valid. that I am more than happy with the support received by the House for this initiative because it is part of the effort we are making to save ourselves from viruses, “he pointed out.
