And Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter were more in love than ever when they appeared on the PDA at the premiere of their film The Power Of The Dog in the midst of the 78th Venice Film Festival on Thursday.

The 45-year-old actor cut a very showy figure in a sharp black dress while posing as his 43-year-old theater director partner, who looked gorgeous in a white and red dress.

Benedict combined his dress with a crisp white shirt and a black tie, finishing the smart shoes with shiny black shoes.

While Sophie radiated in a wavy striped dress that featured thin stripes, pockets and pleats on the skirt.

The beauty finished off her stunning look with quirky earrings and a touch of bright red lipstick, while her brunette locks had an elegant bun.

Sherlock star Benedict also joined the red carpet co-star Kirsten Dunst and film director Jane Campion, who had attended the previous photocall with him.

In a recent trailer for The Power Of The Dog, Kirsten was seen tormented by co-star Benedict.

Benet’s cruel character is seen mocking and torturing a widow played by Kirsten while running a ranch in 1925 in Montana alongside her brother George, played by Dunst’s real-life husband Jesse Plemons.

Western drama is the film adaptation of Thomas Savage’s 1967 novel and sees Benedict, 45, starring cowboy Phil Burbank.

Although Cumberbatch harasses the character of Dunst, Rose and their son Peter, George likes them and marries her.

The group The Power Of The Dog also includes Thomasin McKenzie, Frances Conroy, Keith Carradine, Peter Carroll and Adam Beach, among others.

This is the first time filmmaker Jane Campion has directed a feature film since Bright Star 12 years ago.

And critics expect the film to get a strong boost from the awards season, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Cumberbatch’s performance has already earned him the TIFF Tribute Actor Award at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival, which won’t be until next month.

The Power Of The Dog will be released in theaters on November 17, 2021 and will air on Netflix on December 1.
