HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii reported 1,068 new cases of COVID-19 and four more deaths on Thursday.
The new figures come after the State Department of Health reported on Wednesday a laboratory system that reported the outage. It is the latest number of reports seen in recent days, in a situation where officials have blamed laboratories for taking them to their limits.
The death toll from COVID in Hawaii is now 606.
Of the new cases:
- 724 were in Oahu
- 169 on the island of Hawaii
- 128 on Maui
- 39 a Kauai
There were also eight residents diagnosed out of state.
The new cases reported on Thursday bring the total number of infections statewide since the pandemic began at 65,025. Over the past 14 days, the state said there have been 11,225 new infections reported.
About 63.6% of the state’s population is fully vaccinated, while 71.9% have received at least one dose.
