Google Chrome has more than two billion users worldwide and not only dominates the web browser market, but its Chromium core offers many browser alternatives. All of this makes Chrome the number one target for hackers, and Google has now released its fifth urgent update warning in two months.
Google has warned users about five new “high” security risks in Chrome

In a new blog post, Google has revealed that five new security threats have been discovered with a “High” rating in Chrome and the vulnerabilities affect Chrome users on all major operating systems: Windows, macOS and Linux.
As usual, Google is giving little about the flaws. This strategy is to limit the spread of these vulnerabilities to hackers and gain time for users to protect themselves. As a result, this is what Chrome users should continue right now:
- High – CVE-2021-30606: Use it free then on Blink. Reported by Nan Wang
- High – CVE-2021-30607: Use after free in Permissions. Reported by Weipeng Jiang
- High – CVE-2021-30608: Then use it for free on Web Share. Reported by Viettel Cyber Security
- High – CVE-2021-30609: Use after free login. Reported by raven
- High – CVE-2021-30610: Use after free in API extensions. Reported by Vivaldi
Use-After-Free (UAF) vulnerabilities related to the incorrect use of dynamic memory during program operation. If the program does not clear the memory pointer once it is released, hackers can use this error to exploit the program. Last month, four top-rated UAF defects were found in Chrome. Chrome has also had eight “zero day” hacks (vulnerabilities known to hackers before they were fixed) so far this year.
To protect yourself from these new threats, all Chrome users should go to Settings> Help> About Google Chrome. If your browser version on Linux, macOS, and Windows appears to be 93.0.4577.63 or higher, you are safe. Otherwise, the About screen will prompt you to refresh and restart your browser. You should do this immediately.
Google deserves a lot of credit for the speed with which it continues to offer solutions to attacks on Chrome, but that’s only half the solution. The other half depends on 2.655 million Chrome users updating and restarting the browser.
