“Herschel Walker is a friend, a patriot and a prominent American who will be a GREAT senator from the United States. He embodies “America First” and the winning spirit of Georgia. For months, Trump has encouraged Walker, a newcomer to politics, to consider running for the Senate. In August, he began noting that he was making moves to announce a race after registering to vote in Georgia. About a week after registering, he submitted paperwork to the Federal Electoral Commission (FEC).
The former president’s endorsement may influence Republican Party voters, though Walker’s career may have to overcome some of its own obstacles. The Associated Press reported in July that the public records it had obtained include allegations of threatening behavior against his ex-wife.
In addition, the PA reported that it has shared some of its experience in managing mental illness in a 2008 book.
