The subway service continues to struggle to return, with lines 4, 6, E, F and N partially suspended and 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, A, D, M, G, J, L, QR due to damage residual.
Transit Authority says, “We’ve managed to restore a lot of services today, but our runways in Queens have suffered more damage.”
NW trains serve all stations, but service is extremely limited due to residual damage caused by the Wednesday night storm.
Avoid non-essential trips until further notice.

New York City has reopened all of its major highways after clearing disabled vehicles from flooded roads. Some highway closures remain in Westchester County.
The Metro-North service remains suspended on the Hudson line, where the damage was most severe. Crews continue to work quickly to clean up mudslides and track washing conditions. The Harlem and New Haven lines will operate with an improved weekend schedule for Friday.
LIRR will provide regular weekday service to all branches, with five additional afternoon trains from Penn Station for travelers starting before the holiday weekend.
NJ Transit restored some of its rail services for Friday, including the Northeast Corridor, the North Jersey shoreline, the Morris and Essex lines. The Montclair / Boonton, Gladstone Branch, Pascack Valley and Raritan Valley lines remain suspended. Main / Bergen / Port Jervis Lines will operate on a regular weekday schedule with delays of up to 60 minutes due to the unique follow-up.
The NJ Transit bus service will operate a regular weekday schedule with delays and diversions due to flooding and road closures.
The Newark light rail will continue to operate on a regular weekday schedule for Friday.
The Hudson-Bergen rail service is expected to operate on a regular weekday schedule, with buses between Tonnelle Ave stations. and Bergenline, and to continue a unique follow-up through Richard Street. Customers may experience delays due to the residual impacts of the storm
Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor service resumed Friday.
Staten Island Railroad will also have regular service.
