Former fighter Daffney Unger, also known as Scream Queen, dies at 46 after an alarming video

Former professional wrestler Daffney Unger was found dead Thursday at her Atlanta home after she appeared in a haunting Instagram video the night before. He was 46 years old.

“It’s with great sadness that I have to let you know that my daughter Shannon Spruill … Scream Queen Daff, died suddenly last night,” Unger’s mother, Jean Tookey Spruill, wrote. “Absolutely heartbroken.”

Neither the Gwinnett County Medical Office, which confirmed his death to TMZ, nor his mother, revealed the cause. WWE also announced his death.

In an Instagram Live on Wednesday night, Unger discussed his brain injury symptoms while holding what looked like a small weapon, outlets reported.

The video, later deleted, showed Agitated Unger explaining to viewers that he believed he was suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy related to concussion or CTE, and asked that his brain be given for examination, Deadline reported. Degenerative disease, related to repeated blows to the head, can only be identified posthumously.

“I don’t want to do anything to hurt my brain. I want to be studied, ”said Unger. “I want future generations to know. Don’t do stupid shit like me. ”

Unger became known as the Queen of Screams for calling in the ring. His real name was Shannon Spruill.

He performed in World Championship Wrestling in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and later appeared in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, according to Deadline. He then worked for Shine Wrestling on camera, but did not fight.

He retired due to his injuries, a friend and fellow wrestler told the New York Daily News.

“She was a performer,” Lexie Fyfe told the newspaper.
