The US deports 94 immigrants to the Dominican Republic from Puerto Rico

The U.S. Coast Guard deported 94 immigrants to the Dominican Republic on Friday after detaining them in three operations on the Monkey Pass, a maritime strip that separates the Spanish island from Puerto Rico.

The US federal agency said in a statement that the deportation was carried out in collaboration with the Coast Guard and other government agencies to deter and stop the travel of irregular immigrants from the island of the Spanish heading for the coast of Puerto Rico.

During the first of the interventions, the Coast Guard intercepted, at 3.26 am on Thursday, a boat 17 feet (about 5 meters) long with 32 immigrants on board, 30 men and two women, in nearby waters. of Racó, in front of the coast the west of Puerto Rico.

In the second operation, a marine unit of the Joint Rapid Action Forces of the Puerto Rico Police intercepted a 30-foot (9 meter) long boat on Thursday, at 7:00 a.m., in front of Aguadilla, in the northwest coast of the island.

The boat was carrying 50 immigrants on board, 47 men and three women.

In the third operation, a marine unit of the Puerto Rico Police Rapid Action Joint Forces intercepted a 15-foot (4.5-meter) long boat at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, also next to the coast of Rincón, which carried 12 immigrants on board, 11 men and a woman.

All immigrants received primary care before being deported to their country.
