Rick i MortyThe producer revealed how they felt that one of the episodes of season 5 was leaked before it was to be released. New seasons of Rick and Morty they tend to remain closed and leave a mystery until the premiere of the new episodes. Before these episodes begin their career, usually the most we will get from a new season are the titles. But this time it was a little different, as an episode ended up leaking long before what was initially intended to be released in Adult Swim due to an unfortunate snafu.
Due to a faulty upload to Amazon Prime Video in Canada, the seventh episode of the series, “GoTron Jerrysis Rickvangelion,” aired instead of the fourth episode of the season, “Rickdependence Spray.” This ended up connecting in a very different way to what fans had expected, and this is what ultimately disappointed the executive producer and showrunner. Rick and Morty, Scott Marder, on general filtration.

Speaking to Interdimensional RSS: The Unofficial Rick and Morty Podcast, Marder had explained his complicated reaction to the season 5 episode leaking soon: “I know I was furious,” Marder began to explain before revealing that there was a small silver lining at the leak of the episode, “The only small downside … For example, we throw out our titles and fans pick those titles and try to make sense of things.” But what made it complicated was that the seventh episode featured the startling return of the baby from the incest space, Naruto Smith, who first appears in the episode that had been replaced by the leak.
“We’re very big on security, and to make it so … we rarely call back,” Marder continued. “In our minds we had a special surprise [callback] in the same season. For this to be broadcast first in Canada, the only downside was that people didn’t understand it because … this was broadcast instead of the first episode, so it was something completely confusing and weird for them. ”
But even though there was a small silver coating, Marder was still understandable with the “leak” of the leak, “I was upset about it. You want things to air ideally in the order you saw in your ment “. Fortunately, the final episodes of the fifth season have generally remained under much tighter control than the unfortunate early release. The episodes that Marder causes will have great rewards for fans of the series.
