MISSOULA, Mont. (WWBT / WDBJ) – A woman from Richmond and a native of Roanoke, who disappeared in Montana Glacier National Park, has been found dead.
Jennifer Marie Coleman, 34, is believed to have been hiking around Logan Pass on Aug. 30 or 31.
His body was found in a steep, rocky area near the continental divide, according to an update from the AWARE Foundation.
The AWARE Foundation, an organization dedicated to searching for missing or endangered people, said Coleman is the daughter of the organization’s treasurer and vice president.
The foundation said it last heard it via text message on Aug. 30, just before noon.
He was supposed to pick up his dogs from a boarding establishment the next day, but he never arrived.
According to the foundation, the sheriff’s office conducted a welfare check on his campsite and found all his belongings. His vehicle was also found in the parking lot of the Highline Trail entrance.
On Sept. 5, the AWARE Foundation says Coleman has been found dead. Coleman’s father issued the following statement:
Worst possible news today, Jennifer has been found dead. Many thanks to everyone for the kind words, prayers and messages. People have been a blessing to us. We appreciate and appreciate the bottom of our heart. There are no words to describe mourning.
