Israel has been at the forefront of the game since the coronavirus pandemic began. The country has taken every possible step and has been applauded for being able to keep Covid under control.
As the world struggles to complete two doses of vaccination for all eligible students, Israeli coronavirus tsar Salman Zarka has hinted at a fourth dose of Covid vaccine.
Israel has begun administering a booster shot coronavirus to all citizens. The decision was made even though the World Health Organization (WHO) has urged countries not to start the strengthening program until all other nations have been able to vaccinate at least the vulnerable people.
However, this may not be the end of vaccines, Zarka says. He said as more variants are identified and the Delta variant spreads at an alarming rate, cases, hospitalization and Covid-related deaths are expected to increase.
With that in mind, Zarka claims a fourth shot of the Covid vaccine it will be necessary after a while. “Given that the virus is here and is here to stay, we also need to prepare for the fourth time,” he said in an interview with a local media house. “This is our life from now on, in waves.”

Zarka believes that these reinforcement shots that will protect people against the new variants will be available in late 2021 or early 2022.
He has also warned against another incoming wave. “It seems that if we learn the lessons of the fourth wave, we must consider the [possibility of subsequent] goes with the new variants, like the new South American one, “he told a local media house.” And thinking about that and the decline in vaccines and antibodies, it seems like every few months, it could be once a year or five or six months: we’re going to need another shot. “
Health officials have said, even in the past, that reinforcements will be needed in the future at least after six months or a year.
Israel has managed to vaccinate more than 2.5 million locals, and more are being vaccinated. Reinforcement features are also being administered to the entire eligible population as the country struggles with an increase brought about by the Delta variant.
