The Peruvian National Team faces Venezuela this Sunday at the National Stadium in Lima for the sixth day of the Qatar 2022 South American Qualifiers, where the ‘bicolor’ is looking for its first home victory in the event.
Ricardo Gareca was decided by Gianluca Lapadula and the ‘Bambino’ proved to be a headache for the visit, even receiving fouls from the rival team. He contributed by generating spaces in rival field, pressed the exit and looked for his goal.
On the 63rd minute, Gianluca Lapadula saw an opportunity, but that intention to score cost the Peruvian team. They pressed the exit of Venezuela and a bad refusal bounced in Cheek. The ball went to the ‘Bambino’, who was close to the goalkeeper Faríñez.
Knowing himself in ‘offside’, Gianluca Lapadula gave up the play and Christofer Gonzales run skillfully and sent the ball deep. The Sporting Cristall midfielder celebrated the conquest, but it was not validated as the referee considered that finally the ‘Bambino’ did intervene in the action when he was advanced.
