PHOENIX – Arizona health officials reported more than 3,000 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday for the fourth day in a row.
The state coronavirus panel showed 3,071 new cases and an additional death.
The latest figures put Arizona’s total at 1,030,430 cases and 18,998 known deaths since the pandemic began more than a year ago.
State health authorities reported 3,470 new cases of COVID-19 and 26 deaths on Thursday, 3,802 cases with 80 deaths on Friday and 3,424 new cases on Saturday, along with 38 more deaths.
The number of hospitalized patients confirmed or suspected of COVID-19 in state hospitals was 2,062 on Saturday, down from Friday the 20th.
Meanwhile, the number of ICU beds used by patients with COVID-19 increased by two to 563.
This is the highest since mid-February.
