Vince Russo has revealed that the WWE fired the Harris brothers after refusing to hurt the Legion of Doom during a match.
Russo, a WWE lead writer in the late 1990s, spoke with Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda Wrestling about the Charlotte Flair match against Nia Jax on RAW. On the subject of WWE matches becoming real fights, he revealed details from the backstage about the dismissal of WWE The Harris Brothers:
“Chris, do you know why the Harris brothers were fired from the WWE and why they lost their jobs?” Russo asked. “They told F-up Legion of Doom. The marching orders were to go to the ring and injure them, and Ronny and Donny Harris said, “No, they’re our friends, we won’t.” No.’ And they were fired, ”Russo revealed.

Don Harris and Ron Harris worked under various names in the WWE between 1995 and 1999, including The Blu Brothers and The Grimm Twins. They also acted as Skull (Don) and 8-Ball (Ron) in the faction The Disciples of Apocalypse.
Vince Russo gives credit to The Harris Brothers for defending the WWE
The Harris Brothers, also known as Creative Control, joined WCW in 1999 after their release in the WWE. They went on to become three-time WCW team world champions.
Vince Russo added that 90 percent of WWE superstars would have agreed to the WWE leadership’s request to defeat the Legion of Doom.
“If you think I’m crazy and Chris is good, brother, I can verify that story,” Russo said. “It was a success. They wanted the Harris Boys to do a great job at LOD and they said, ‘No, brother, they are our friends. We are not doing that.
