The man dies after being shot in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man was killed in a shooting Monday morning in Fort Lauderdale.

It passed near the intersection of Northwest Street 8th and Northwest of Terrace 10.

According to Lt. DeAnna Greenlaw, a spokeswoman for the Fort Lauderdale police department, officers found the man unconscious on the road after he was shot. Police say the shooting occurred around 8:20 p.m.

The victim was then taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

“Every effort was made to save the victim’s life,” Greenlaw wrote. “He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center and pronounced dead.”

Relatives outside the Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale identified the victim as Emmanuel St. Vil Derisse.

The relatives, who are Haitians, were seen breaking down in tears and shouting at the news of their relative.

A man living near Fort Lauderdale, where the shooting took place, said he heard gunshots and ran out to find the victim lying on the sidewalk.

“I was trying to get him to breathe,” the man said. “And he knew he couldn’t move anything like that because the blood came from his neck and mouth. I couldn’t do anything, but I put pressure on the area. “

A white Jeep was added to the test list on Monday afternoon. Earlier, police had sealed all the doors of the Jeep.

Authorities have not provided any information about a possible suspect or motive for the shooting.
