The National Institute of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences delivered the body of soldier Javier Stiven Sánchez on Tuesday Beltrán to his family in Bogota.
It should be remembered that the uniformed man, 19 years old, disappeared on August 16 at the School of Logistics in Bogota and his body was found on the banks of the Fucha, located in the neighborhood La Cecília, a town in Sant Cristòfol in the south of the city.
Lawyer Jessica Hoyos, legal representative of the victim’s family and member of the José Alvear Restrepo Collective, noted that the delivery took place after waiting for more than 12 hours on the outskirts of the Institute.
“We are in front of Forensic Medicine, we just received the body of Javier Stiven Sánchez Beltrán, after talking to the national director of Forensic Medicine because they hadn’t handed us the body and finally, they delivered the corpse. ”

For his part, Juan Sánchez Jiménez, the victim’s father, pointed out that this is one of the most difficult moments they have experienced as a family and has indicated that they are asking for justice to be done.
“They already gave us my son’s body, we hope that his funeral may be brought forward; I want the truth to be known, what happened and justice to be done for my son who is already dead and on behalf of my wife, siblings and family, we ask that what happened be clarified and that this not go unpunished. ”
He added that “like Juan Javier Sánchez Jiménez I demand justice for my son and my whole family.” Angie Carolina Beltrán, mother of the uniformed one, assured in RCN Radio that the 19-year-old was tortured and demanded that those involved be held accountable for the crime.
“This is corruption of the Army, why they had to do this, why they had to extinguish the life of a person who went to fulfill his dream of serving the homeland (…), I want to ask the Army not to hide things because, sooner or later, there is a God who knows everything and he called them to account; my boy who was barely 19 years old so that my life would be extinguished, when until now he was beginning to fulfill his dreams, they only let him become a dragoneante, he could not fulfill the dream of being a non-commissioned officer “.
He added that “He went away so proudly to serve the homeland so that this would happen and I would be killed and as an animal tortured me, because that was what happened, my son was tortured (…) “.
RCN Radio knew that the funeral honors are fulfilled in the funeral home of the Olive trees, located in the street 15 South N ° 14-58 and that the Eucharist will be realized in the parish of Our Lady of Valvanera, located in the race 24 N ° 16 C – 36 South, from two in the afternoon of this Tuesday.
