Juan Maldonado Castro has been the director of Digne Comunidad since September 2020, an entity created with the aim of creating an Action Plan for Poverty Reduction and which focuses on promoting comprehensive development and in improving the quality of life in economic, political, social and cultural terms of the most vulnerable communities in the country.
Almost a year after his appointment, his name was included this Wednesday among those involved in Operation Falcon, launched by the Public Ministry against drug trafficking and money laundering.
In addition to Maldonado Castro, Juan José de la Cruz Morales, José Alejandro de la Cruz Morales, Maria Olimpia Tavárez, Lenin Bladimir Torres Bueno and Delfina Asunción Polanco were arrested, among others.

Juan Maldonado Castro was appointed national executive director of the Directorate General of Dignified Community on September 11, replacing Aura Estela Fernández Plata, who has served since 2019.
This lawyer was a deputy of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) for the province of Seibo for four consecutive terms, where he served as chairman of the Standing Committee on Municipal Affairs and Sports and the Standing Committee on Tourism.
He also participated as an active member of the permanent commission of Public Works and Road Communication, permanent commission of contract and permanent commission of public debt.
He graduated in law from the Félix Adam Experimental University (Unefa), with a specialized training in constitutional law, political science and real estate.
He has also participated in national and international seminars, conferences and congresses, with topics in politics, tourism and other branches of knowledge.
He also lectured at the following conferences: the Coppal Conference in Paraguay on the Latin American Economic Model for Growth; conference “Perspectives on Tourism in the Dominican Republic” and its participation in the Legislative Forums for Development.
Maldonado has been a manager of recognitions for his careers and successes to outstanding compatriots such as the athlete Leida Castro, the Queens of the Caribbean, David Ortiz and Romeo Santos, all for his outstanding career and contributions to our country.
The ex – legislator was born in the municipality of Miches, the 6 of May of 1968.
