Michigan adults can now access immunization records through the free online portal

Michigan residents 18 years of age or older can locate their immunization records in the state’s medical record system through a new public portal.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has launched the Michigan Immunization Portal.

Michigan adults with immunization records published in the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR), including COVID-19 vaccination, will be able to locate their own online record and download, save, or print this information. The portal was funded by CDC grants and officially launched in mid-August.

“We want to make sure Michiganders can access their vaccination records as easily as possible, as this is important health information,” said Elizabeth Hertel, director of MDHHS. “The Michigan Immunization Portal allows them to find their record from their computer or smartphone and save a copy. This will also allow anyone who has lost their COVID-19 vaccination card to print a record of their vaccination. “

To ensure privacy and that people can only access their own vaccination records, Michiganders must create a MILogin account. at Michigan.gov/MiImmsportal and upload a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, status document, or passport. Access to the portal comes at no cost.

Vaccinations provided in another state or country may not be included in an individual’s registration on the portal. If a person’s immunization record cannot be found, records can still be requested at a doctor’s office or local health department.

Because the portal is only available to those over the age of 18, parents will not be able to download their child’s immunization records. Parents can contact their child’s doctor’s office or the local health department to obtain a copy of their immunization records.
