QSR, owned by The Restaurant Brands International,
the fast food chain explained Thursday in a press release that the purge is part of its commitment to fulfill “the promise of a real meal.”
“We know our customers’ expectations are changing and they want to make decisions about which they can feel good about, ”Ellie Doty, U.S. head of marketing at Burger King, said in a statement. “By banning these 120 ingredients from our food, we offer guests a simple option: delicious food made with quality ingredients. We are confident that our ongoing commitment to real food will not only provide guests with the food they are looking for, but will also set a standard for the industry at large. ”
And Burger King is doubling that real food premise with a series of “Keep It Real Meals” backed by celebrities such as rappy Nelly and singers Anitta and LilHuddy.
