The National Council of the Aging Person (CONAPE) and the General Directorate of National Assets signed an inter-agency collaboration agreement yesterday with the purpose of identifying, donating and / or transferring properties that can be used in the installation of day homes, for the benefit of the older adult population of the country.

The agreement was signed by the executive director of CONAPE, José García Ramírez, and the director general of National Assets and the State Council of Sugar (CEA), César Julio Cedeño Ávila, during a meeting held at the headquarters of the governing body for policies on older adults, located at Santiago Street No. 4 of sector of Gascue, National District.

The signatories valued this alliance that seeks to establish a framework for joint collaboration in favor of the country’s elderly, by strengthening the actions promoted by CONAPE on the expansion of services and comprehensive care programs aimed at older adults. , and with regard to the program of construction and equipment of permanent and day homes in different provinces of the country.

CONAPE is governed by Law 352-98 which aims to establish procedures that allow the comprehensive protection of the elderly.

This agreement between the two institutions is based on Article 57 of the Constitution, which enshrines the principle of protection for the elderly, the family, society and the state. National Assets protects and accounts for the nation’s assets.
