At least 8 cocaine seizures between 2016 and 2019 in the DR and Puerto Rico are linked to Operation Falcon

The Public Ministry has offered through various press releases since last Wednesday, when it was reported the arrest of several people linked to Operation Falcon, a network of drug trafficking and money laundering, details of some of the belongings and activities carried out by the group of people.

To this supposed network that used the province of Santiago like its “center of command, control and washing of assets”, with ramifications in the region this of country, several kilos of cocaine were confiscated to him, substance that was dedicated to traffic , in different operating from 2016 to 2019 in operations conducted in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

According to publications of the Attorney General’s Office, those involved in the network mobilized large shipments of drugs from South America, especially from Colombia and Venezuela, to the Dominican Republic, in order to take them to the United States, Puerto Rico and Europe, “Using speedboats, sport boats (double bottom), fishing boats and containers.”

One of these operations was carried out in November 2016 by the US authorities in Puerto Rico, led by the Customs and Border Protection Agency (ICE), where 1,786 kilos of cocaine were seized.

This drug, according to publications of the time, had a value in the $ 45 million black market.

For this game seven people of Dominican nationality were arrested, four were in Puerto Rico and the rest in the Dominican Republic who would be extradited.

The names revealed were: Erick mosqueja Polanco, Juan José De la Cruz Morales, Kevin De Morla Santana, Rudy Contreras Severino, José Morales Soto, Sandy Hernández Mieses and Jonathan Jiménez Díaz.

“All of them, except Jiménez Díaz, were previously accused by a grand federal jury in Puerto Rico of trying to introduce drugs from the Dominican Republic,” he says in Puerto Rico’s Primera Hora newspaper, in a note attributed to the EFE agency.

Jiménez Díaz was the only person in this group who was not charged in 2013 for drug trafficking valued at $ 15 million.

The Dominican Public Ministry also says that this network was confiscated in December 2018, 500 kilograms of cocaine introduced in Puerto Rico, and another of 722 packages occupied by the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) in Boca de Yuma in November 2018.

In the Boca de Yuna operation, the DNCD reported that for this drug they arrested a subject identified as Jesuit, next to others that were in the place at the time of the flattening, in a Dealer located in the Street Germanes Mirabal, corner 2 August, of the municipality of Higuey.

“During the operation, a 12-caliber shotgun and a 9mm pistol, with its magazine and several capsules, were occupied,” they noted.

In the same year on the coasts of the Municipal District of Bayahíbe, La Altagracia province, the National Directorate of Drug Control confiscated a consignment of 659 packages of cocaine.

The DNCD, as detailed, intercepted a vessel, with the air support of the Army Cavalry, and inside were packaged (hidden) the packages of the confiscated substance.

Similarly, in February 2019, the DNCD seized 254 packages of cocaine on the road section of the Coral Highway, between the Coral II toll station and the Verón-Punta Cana municipal district roundabout.

The drug, which was transported in Dogde Ram brand truck, the driver’s name was not revealed, it was hidden all over the length of the vehicle bed, where “several cell phones, personal documents and other evidence were also taken care of.”

Also in March 2019, 1,050 packets of cocaine were seized on a boat type Go Fast that was adrift due to lack of fuel about 50 nautical miles north of Puerto Rico.

Finally, the authorities indicated that the drug trafficking network is related to two other items, 86 and 139 packages of cocaine, occupied by the DNCD in May 2019.
