Mexico City /
the Monza Grand Prix has started and after practice one, it was the turn of the classification for the sprint qualification, which was for the Finn Valtteri Bottas, Who surprised everyone, but especially his team, as he fell from the ‘no stick ‘ a Lewis Hamilton, Something that possibly did not fall at all well, as the faces of seriousness were not made to wait in the team of the silver arrows.
On the other hand the third place was for Max Verstappen who was once again benefited by his teammate, Sergio “Checo” Pérez, who I take care of his back in Q3. The Mexican let go from the September drawer tomorrow.
So was the grid for the sprint race
What is the sprint format like?
This format will consist of two races, the traditional one on Sunday and the one on Saturday, which will last 100 kilometers and 20 cars will take part. There will be no tire change or chest stops, it will be optional.
the winner of the sprint race will add three units, second place two and third one point. The rest will not be awarded, but the place where they finish will be important as it will be the order in the starting grid of the race on Sunday (the new classification).
Qualification as such will not be, and the poleman will be defined in Saturday’s race, he will be practically the winner of the sprint and not the fastest in the classification as tradition dictates. To set the sprint grid on Friday there will be a classification in which teams will only use soft tires. Then the cars will enter closed park and they will no longer be able to play until Saturday and Sunday. Sunday’s race will be as we know it, all the logistics and rules will be respected.
How many sprint races will there be?
There are three Grand Prix where you will experiment with this new format: GP of Great Britain, GP of Italy and GP of Brazil. But these may increase over the next season or year.
