Michigan hospitals are seeing an increase in children catching COVID

DETROIT – As children return to school, there are more and more health professionals who increase the number of children with COVID.

According to COVID cases from the Oakland County Health Division, people under the age of 19 are the second fastest growing group, led by those under 30. Combined, they now surpass the old demographics.

As of Thursday, Detroit Medical Center has five patients with pediatric COVID. CS Mott Children’s Hospital has no hospitalized children, but health professionals said there has been an increase in sick children testing positive for COVID.
