Judge postpones for Friday that measure of coercion against defendants in Falcón case

The Court of Permanent Attention of Santiago postponed for the next time the knowledge of the measure of coercion against the accused in the Choral Operation, who is accused of leading the largest network of international drug trafficking and money laundering in the country.

The judge in charge of the case, Iris Borges, made the decision after accepting a request from the defense of the defendants, who alleged that they had not had enough time to hear the case. The view will be known at 9:00 a.m. that day.

The Public Ministry is represented by the Director of Persecution of the Public Ministry, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, and the Chief Prosecutor of Sant Jaume, Osvaldo Bonilla.

According to the prosecution’s accusation, the alleged network, with international ramifications in the United States, Puerto Rico and Europe, used the country, specifically Santiago, where it had its operational center, for the geographical facilities it represents.

He indicates that since 2012 the group has trafficked thousands of kilos of drugs, an offense that allowed him revenues of over 10 billion pesos, with which he financed even election campaigns.

Reynoso explained that the arrest of the defendants took months of work, which resulted in dozens of home violations in various parts of the country where they occupied real estate, cash, vehicles and luxury items such as watches, chains and other high value items.

Maria Olimpia Tavares Rodríguez, Juan Maldonado Castro, Víctor Elpidio Altagracia Paulino Herrera, Luis Daniel Nieves Batista, Adolfo Antonio Torres Sanabia, Juli César Jiménez Talavera, Joan Baptista Carpio Reynoso are accused of narco traffic and money laundering. , José Alejandro de la Cruz Morales.
