The Texans rejected three first-round picks for Deshaun Watson

The Texans turned down an offer from three first-round draft picks Deshaun Watson just before the draft in April, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports (h / t The Houston Chronicle). There were four teams that were really interested in Watson at one point this offseason, being Glazer. However, at this point, “most have abandoned all.” The Dolphins have been strongly related to Watson to the end, although there are conflicting reports about his level of interest. While he was owner Stephen Ross He may be very much in Watson, two team members have felt he will not impose his will on the main office. Meanwhile, head coach Brian Flores says that Your Tagovailoa will continue as his starting quarterback.

The pre-draft offer (and rejection) is certainly remarkable, but that mysterious team may have been offering conditional options, depending on Watson’s availability. This is not initial for GM Nick Caserio, who is willing to pay Watson for doing nothing in 2021.

Watson remains on the list, but not on the field. So far, jeans work well. Sunday, Tyrod Taylor led Houston to a 37-21 win over the Jaguars.
