An Idaho lumber company said there was no background to respond Monday to President Joe Biden’s statement that he was given his “first job offer” during the Vietnam War.
As he spoke at a roundtable in Boise, Idaho, where federal and state firefighters at the National Interagency Fire Center received information about forest fire efforts, Biden said he and his dead ex-wife had intended to move to Idaho because it is such a state beautiful.
He also said he used to argue with former Idaho Democrat Frank Church about how he had been offered a job at the Boise Cascade Company, a wood products manufacturer and wholesale distributor of building materials.
“I was telling this to Frank Church, I had a first job offer, where I wanted, my wife, my dead wife and I wanted to move to Idaho because for us, it’s not a joke, it’s such a beautiful and beautiful state. And I did an interview to work at Boise Cascade, ”Biden said.
“And in the meantime, there was a war going on. Anyway. But the basic point was that he always made Frank a boy,” Biden added.
Lisa Tschampl, a Boise Cascade spokeswoman, told the New York Post that there is no evidence that responds to Biden’s claim to get a job at his company.
“We have no record of President Biden’s request or of having worked for the company,” said Tschampl, who added that “we have checked our system internally and nothing has appeared.”

The spokeswoman added that it could be possible that records would be lost when the company launched some of its other projects in recent decades to focus on wood.
Biden, who has a history of plagiarism and telling false stories, made headlines earlier this month when he incorrectly claimed he visited the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh after the shooting there in 2019.
