The more determined Andrew Garfield is to deny that he is related to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the more determined people seem to keep asking him. All of this may have reached a crescendo last night, when the actor appeared Tonight’s show starring Jimmy Fallon and had to improvise on the fly when he was confronted with a high-resolution video that appears to depict the actor dressed in a Spider-Man costume, while talking to someone in gloves wearing a Spider-Man costume, suggesting that it could be a multiversal moment since Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The short video seems to match perfectly with a much lower resolution photo that purports to include Garfield a few feet away from Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man. The photo takes place on a large scaffolding, while in the video you can see items from a similar background.
For his part, Garfield acted oblivious to the existence of photography and material when Fallon was asked about it. When Fallon jokingly “informed” Garfield that the actor would appear Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield acted absolutely incredulous, barking a “what ?!” and continuing to deny that he had ever seen the photo or video.
You can watch the clip below.
Garfield told Fallon that “if you can show me the photo, I can tell you if it’s me or if it’s a real thing,” but Fallon said the image had been removed from the Internet and Garfield replied amusedly, “Okay. , how convenient, Detective Fallon! ”
The photo in question has not been completely removed from the internet, but a network TV show like Fallon (or, in fact, any large business-supported organization, including this site) that shares it directly could be setting up to be sued by Disney and / or Sony, so the odds of printing them on a card and showing them to Garfield on the page Tonight the shows are quite small.
Of course, right now, this could be the way they finally decide to announce their involvement if, in fact, that evidence is real and Garfield actually appears in the film.
After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Loki, i What if …?The Marvel multiverse seems to be more open than ever, and that makes some fans expect to see Garfield’s Spider-Man, as well as Tobey Maguire, share the screen with Holland. After the commercial success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, there is hardly a more common character for Marvel to begin exploring its infinite Lands. But while Maguire has refused to address the rumors, Garfield has been more vocal in his denials.
“I understand why people freak out with the concept of this because I’m a fan too. You can’t stop imagining scenes and moments from ‘Oh my God, how the fuck would they do it?'” Garfield told Variety recently. “But it ‘s important for me to tell the record that this is not something I am aware of that is involved. But I know I won’t be able to say anything that convinces anyone that I don’t know what it is No matter what I say, I’m fucked. Either it will be very disappointing for people or it will be very exciting. ”
Starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch, Sony and Marvel Studios Spider-Man: No Way Home it is scheduled to open in theaters on December 17th.
