A Florida girl who went missing after being abducted when she was a 6-year-old boy in 2007 has reunited with her mother, according to police.
The breakup in the cold case surrounding the disappearance of Jacqueline Hernandez, now 19, occurred on Sept. 2 when her mother, Angelica Vences-Salgado, was “contacted through social media by a woman. who claimed to be his kidnapped daughter. ” in the Clermont police department.
Investigators say the woman told Vences-Salgado she was in Mexico and wanted to meet her at a border entry point in Laredo, Texas, on Sept. 10.

That day, U.S. National Security, Customs and Border Protection Investigations and the Laredo Police Department “intercepted Mother Angelica and the woman who claimed to be victims” on the U.S.-Mexico border, the Clermont Police Department.
“Based on the documentation provided to these agencies by the Angelica and Clermont police department, they determined that the woman was indeed Jacqueline Hernandez who was abducted from her mother in 2007,” he added. “At approximately 4:55 p.m., Jacqueline … successfully reunited with her mother.”
Police later posted a photo of the two hugging.
“This is an excellent example of what can be achieved when several law enforcement agencies and their respective communities work cooperatively together and keep lines of communication open,” Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway said in a statement. . “In this case, several agencies from different counties and states across the nation were able to create a force multiplier and help reunite the victim with his mother after 14 years.”
In 2007, the Florida law enforcement department said Hernandez was “allegedly kidnapped by her father, Pablo Hernandez,” on Dec. 22 of that year.
A kidnapping order was issued against him and investigators at the time said the couple could travel to Mexico.

As of Tuesday, Pablo Hernández’s current whereabouts were not immediately clear.
