You know how it is. One minute, you are a young and lush twenty-seven-year-old, eager to be unleashed in the world and make your way; establish new relationships, get a job, maybe rent the first house. Your whole life is ahead of you! So, BOOM, you’ve suddenly turned 40, the last two decades have been a blur, and to make matters worse, a madman on the Internet is telling you that the Nintendo GameCube is 20 years.
That may not be right; we still vividly remember that we had read about the box-like console in the magazines and that we were thrilled for no reason before pre-ordering this magnificent box of goodness for games just a few years ago. Rogue leader. Luigi’s Mansion. Zelda: Wind Waker! All these games feel it us, so recent; and now you tell me this is one complete two decades? That he is old enough to drink, smoke, marry, and join the armed forces (at least in some countries)?
