Amazon will make 125,000 contracts and raise wages in much of the U.S.

Amazon announced on Tuesday that it will hire 125,000 more people in the United States with wages from US $ 18 to US $ 22.50 per hour in 18 states (including the most populous in the country), an increase of US $ 15 current, according to a statement.

These new vacancies in warehouses and transportation add to another 40,000 new jobs announced earlier this month.

As part of its Amazon Career Choice program, it will pay full college tuition for its front-line employees as part of a $ 1.2 billion investment to expand education and skills training for its labor force in the country.

Amazon opened more than 250 stores, sorting and delivery centers this year and will open more than 100 new stores this month alone, the statement added.

The company recalled that since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic it has hired more than 450,000 people in the country.
