On Tuesday, the famous baseball hall, Mike Piazza, went to beat California Republican Larry Elder, and urged voters to oust first-term Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in the state’s re-election, but no it worked.
Newsom managed to defend the challenges of Elder and a camp of other Republicans to stay in office to complete his term.
On Tuesday, the day of the election decision, Piazza, a 53-year-old former New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers star, posted a 44-second video on Twitter supporting Elder, a conservative radio host who he was the Republican leader.

“He goes out and votes to remember Gavin Newsom and puts Larry Elder in Sacramento,” Piazza said in the video. “When I got to Los Angeles, all of this was talked about by my friends who moved to California. And now, everything they talk about, it’s moving out of California. Larry Elder wants to change that. He’s a man who loves California deeply. and will regain California. dream. Vote for Larry Elder “.

Piazza, a prominent supporter of former President Trump, added that if Elder won, Piazza would personally return to Dodger Stadium for the first time since he finished his MLB career to thank “all Dodgers fans who they voted for him [Elder] and greets many friends I haven’t seen in a long time. “
However, his efforts seemed to be in vain, as it was projected that Newsom would continue to be the governor of California and Elder acknowledged defeat on Tuesday at the end.
Newsom, who was overwhelmingly elected governor in 2018 in the heavily blue state, faced a withdrawal caused last year mainly by accusations that he mismanaged the state’s response to the coronavirus.
Voters were asked two questions at Newsom’s withdrawal polls. The first question was whether the governor should be removed from office. If more than 50% supported Newsom’s removal, the second question offered a list of 46 candidates running to replace him.
Last month the ballots were sent to An estimated 22 million registered voters in California and they needed the postage stamp or delivery when the ballot boxes closed, at eight o’clock in the afternoon.

Piazza, considered one of the greatest offensive captains in baseball history, was a draft pick in the 62nd round of Los Angeles in the 1988 MLB draft. He played seven seasons with the Dodgers, before being traded to the Florida Marlins. who later threw him to the Mets.
