Chef Met Gala’s curator defends the quality of the food served at the shindig ritzy … afterwards Keke Palmer posted pictures of the group that seemed reminiscent of the Fyre Festival.
Marcus Samuelsson – the restaurateur / chef who helped select the ten emerging chefs who created the Met Gala menu – tells TMZ … to begin with, yes, Keke’s image is in fact a part of what was served at the $ 30,000 . $ 50,000 for ticket party.
As for Keke’s dish, Marcus tells us it was barley covered in roasted mushrooms, tomato salad with corn, and sliced zucchini. Marcus says that food, like anything, is a matter of taste and tastes very good.
Marcus says the 3 course meal was delicious … and the feedback he received has been amazing.
Marcus, in collaboration with Bon Appétit, selected and challenged 10 New York chefs to create a sustainable plant-based menu … hence all the fruits and vegetables. However … Keke’s photo, which showed the starter, almost everyone was talking on social media.
One person wrote, “Clearly it was a kind of ‘eat’ thing before you get there.” Someone else said, “They’re feeding everyone like it’s the Fyre Festival.”
